The Project Manager - Dredging is responsible for the planning, execution, and control of cost of the dredging project. Specific project responsibilities include: development and implementation of safety and quality control plans, project staffing, work plans, subcontractor management, materials and supplies ordering, logistics management and support, financial reporting and cost forecasting. This position requires teamwork with colleagues, clients, subcontractors, and adjacent contractors. This position is based in Morgan City, LA.

Lead and work with the Estimator, Superintendent, Project Engineers and Foremen to plan, organize and direct activities to successfully construct projects.
Establish project objectives, policies, procedures, and performance standards within the boundaries of corporate policy and contract specifications.
Oversee drafting and implementation of a project specific safety plan. Review job hazard analysis (JHAs) for applicability and compliance.
Ensure quality control plan is implemented and aligns with contract documents.
Monitor and control project utilizing onsite management staff to ensure project is completed on schedule and within budget.
Maintain project schedule and project completion deliverables and communicate this information to Construction Department Manager, owner, and subcontractors on a regular basis.
Work with Cost Accounting Manager to maintain the financial records of the contract to protect companys interest and maintain good relations with customers and subcontractors.
Update and review with Construction Division Manager and Cost Accounting Manager projected contract revenue, cost to complete, and cash flow projections on a monthly basis.
Request supplies and materials to complete projects as needed.
Acquire necessary permits.
Present Attendance to applicable USCG and ABS inspections.
Ensure compliance with conditions and reporting requirements.
Interpret and explain plans and contract terms to administrative staff including job cost coding and quantity tracking.
Represent company in project meetings.
Work in a constant state of alertness and in a safe manner.
Perform other duties as assigned.

This position may supervise the work of project staff, support staff, administrative staff design teams and key teamed subcontractors.

Job Requirements

Technical knowledge of various construction concepts, practices, and procedures including shoreside and waterside projects.
Sound knowledge of construction, architectural, and building industry standard operating practices/procedures.
Ability to prepare accurate budgets and cost estimates; in-depth knowledge of fiscal management principles and procedures.
Ability to create, read, and understand complex contract documents.
Sound knowledge of Microsoft Project, Excel, Word, Outlook, and PowerPoint.
Skill in organizing resources, establishing priorities, meeting deadlines and general time management.
Ability to gather data, compile information, and prepare reports.
Possess excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Ability to manage projects under government contracts, specifically USACE, and/or in the public-sector.
Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and perform under deadlines and adjust work schedule to meet goals.
Knowledge of design-build projects.
Knowledge of firm fixed pricing contracts.
Ability to create project schedule, manage subcontracts, prepare submittals, monitor quality control and safety.
Ability to work independently and work cooperatively with others.
Ability to work with employees, business partners, and customers in a friendly and positive manner.
Ability to write routine reports and correspondence.
Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and procedure manuals.
Ability to manage competing priorities successfully.
Ability to work with concentration, accuracy, and attention to detail.
Ability to analyze and resolve complex issues.
Ability to participate in and facilitate group meetings.
Work requires willingness to work a flexible schedule.
Ability to travel for work related purposes (approximately 50% of the time, as needed).
Ability to operate a motor vehicle in a safe and efficient manner.
Ability to work in a Native Corporation multi-business environment.

Bachelors degree in Civil Engineering or Construction Management required. Related experience and equivalent skills may be substituted on a year-for-year basis.
Ten (10) years experience in addition to formal education in civil construction project management required, including experience managing marine construction projects required.
Project Management Professional (PMP) certification preferred.
Experience with Autodesk Civil 3D, HCSS HeavyBid, HCSS HeavyJob, RMS, Primavera P6 and QCS software preferred.
Design-build project experience preferred.
Firm fixed pricing contract background preferred.
Must have a valid drivers license and be qualified to operate a vehicle under the conditions of the Companys Driving Policy.
Ability to pass a drug, driving record and background screening.

Includes both office setting and field time. Field work requires travel via planes, boats, and vehicles. Work hours in the field may greatly exceed schedule shown. Work may require occasional weekend and/or evening work.
